Taxi Cabs And Accidents In Maryland; What You Need To Know!

Taxi Cabs are not required to have the same insurance coverage as other vehicles. According to Md. Code Ann., Ins. § 19-501 “Motor Vehicle Insurance- Primary Coverage,” Taxi Cabs are excluded from the primary coverage mandates for motor vehicles. Unlike most other vehicles, taxis similarly do not carry no-fault medical coverage. However, sometimes taxi cab drivers or passengers are able to make claims under their personal policies for no-fault medical coverage (Nasseri v. Geico Gen. Ins.
